Frequently Asked Questions

  • I charge $115 per 50 minute session. I can sometimes slide my fee, depending on your situation. Don't let cost be a barrier even if you think you can't afford my fee- we can talk about it together.

  • At this time, I do not accept insurance. I can offer you a "super-bill" to submit to your insurance plan for out-of-network coverage. Please note, I am not a Medicaid provider. If you have Medicaid coverage, you must disclose that to me prior to us beginning any work together.

  • I work with teenagers age 16+ which allows me to engage with teens who want to be in therapy, without needing parent/guardian consent. That being said, often times teens end up working with me because it's their parent or guardian's decision. This can feel both disempowering and supportive/caring. I aim to create a space for teens to use the time however they want. Sometimes it's a space to explore things like interpersonal conflict, disordered eating, self-esteem, or identity. Sometimes it's a space to play games and make art together. Most often, it's a mix of both.

For teens who are coming to see me at the request of a parent/guardian, I ask that the adult be present in our first session. From there, your teen and I will meet individually for four sessions before I bring any adult back in to chat. It will always be up to my client (your teenager) to decide if they want to have you join in session. This helps facilitate trust between me and your teen, setting the tone that this is their space.

  • This is one of the most common questions I get. I'm guessing that you, like so many of my clients, would prefer to stay out of inpatient or intensive outpatient treatment. Treatment centers bring up mixed emotions for most of my clients, and for me as well. If it's your desire to heal from your behaviors without going into higher level of care, I want to do my best to help that happen. That being said, it won't always be possible. Sometimes behaviors have such a strong hold and require more care than I can provide. This is a conversation I like to have with my clients.

I have extensive training and experience in working with all eating disorder behaviors. Sometimes it's apparent from our first meeting that I will not be able to offer the support you need, and sometimes it takes more time. Eating disorders are complex, persistent, and not always consistent in how they present in our lives. The road to full, embodied recovery is nuanced, and it is possible to get there!

  • For new clients and clients not located in Denver, yes, I only offer virtual sessions. For clients in Denver, once we have met a few times, I offer the option for walk & talk therapy, where we meet at City Park and conduct session from there.

  • Unfortunately I am only licensed to provide therapy to clients in Colorado. This also means that if you are a client of mine and you are traveling out of state, we will have to skip sessions until you return to Colorado.
